We know how important it is for our customers to maintain a seamlessly integrated workflow between all the applications. As a result, we designed our Software Update Subscription package to cover ALL the lifetime licenses you own. This way, we can guarantee perfect compatibility between all Gemini applications in your organization's portfolio.
If you already know that you will not be using some of the licenses, you need to remove them from any USB Dongle in your organization, to safely park them into your MyCAD account. Later, you can reload these licenses from the stock onto the USB dongle, and start using them again.
We accept Visa and Mastercard and we use Recurly in order to provide the highest level of security for our customers' credit card information. Recurly is PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant. We strongly advise you to install the latest version of the software on all your workstations. This is the only way we can guarantee full compatibility between applications and no downtime in your design and manufacturing processes.
You can cancel the subscription at any time. Canceling will prevent a renewal action at the end date of the current software update subscription. Gemini CAD Systems will continue to offer the update service until the end date of the current subscription period, and you will be able to download, install and use updated versions of our application during this period. Gemini will not issue a refund, since you already committed to a one-year subscription. If you subscribed to monthly payments, with a 12-month commitment, our payment processing partners will attempt to charge all 12 months.
We work hard to bringing new functionalities and fixing bugs for every new release of Gemini software. We do this based on valuable customer feedback, such as yours. We strongly suggest staying up to date and receiving new versions of the applications. If, for some reason, you decide to cancel your update subscription, you will revert to the right of using the version you purchased before applying to the Software Update Subscription. This can go back to the version you initially purchased or to the latest update you made in the past. Many new functionalities and file properties are not included in the old versions of the software, so the new files you created while having the active Update Subscription are NOT compatible with the old versions of the software. However, you will be able to use the 'Save as compatibility mode' functionality and migrate your files (models, orders) to a previous version of the application, according to your lifetime license. During this process, you will keep all important data in your files, except for information created based on new functionalities. You can always check on the MyCAD platform, by navigating to the Licenses page and the 'Maximum allowed version' for each license in your organization. You will use any version of the software with the release date no later than the displayed date. If you no longer have an older version of the application, you can find an appropriate one in the 'Downloads' section of MyCAD.
At any subscription due date, or at renewal, an invoice is created for your Software Update Subscription, and our payment processing partners will attempt to charge your credit card. If the payment is attempted and fails, the following actions will be triggered:
This service is offered to clients who have purchased lifetime licenses for Gemini software, and are using a USB dongle to store these licenses and use them offline.
When you purchase a lifetime license to use a Gemini Software product, this license is registered and stored in your account from Gemini's MyCAD web platform . This location is secured and your licenses are safe. But, when you want to use these licenses, you transfer them outside the platform, to a USB dongle, so they can be accessed offline to activate the software. This USB dongle is a small device that can be lost or stolen. In this case, the lifetime licenses stored on it are lost (or stolen), too. Should this situation occur, the License Backup Subscription allows the missing licenses to get back into your account, so you can transfer them to another USB dongle, with no cost or questions asked.
Imagine that, if someone steals your USB dongle, and a lifetime license is stored on it, that person can use the software offline indefinitely, because there is no technical (and legal) way by which Gemini could access and disable the USB dongle. Moreover, a client could just claim the USB dongle is missing, while still having it, and ask for a replacement license stored on another USB dongle, while still using the first one. In short, if the USB dongle is missing, it means it is somewhere, and the lifetime license is there, too. It is just as if your car went missing, you cannot call the car dealer to ask for a new replacement car.
In this case, there is no problem. If the broken USB dongle exists, and you can hand it over to Gemini, Gemini knows that the licenses are stored on that broken USB dongle, and no one can access it. That means that the license is invalid too, so Gemini can replace it with a valid one, and make it available in your stock on the MyCAD platform, so you can place it on another USB dongle.
The system is very simple. When you activate this Backup Subscription, even if your purchased license is lifetime, the license transferred to the USB dongle will only be a temporary license, limited to 30 days. Every 30 days, the USB dongle must contact the MyCAD server, and ask if everything is ok. If the USB dongle is declared missing (lost or stolen), the server will not renew the licenses on that USB dongle. So, if someone steals the USB dongle, the latter will be able to be used for only a maximum of 30 days, so Gemini knows that the missing license is doomed to stop. Using this system, the lifetime license is actually still in stock, because only a temporary copy was stored on the missing USB dongle. In this case, you can just activate the same license on other USB dongle, and continue to work without any disturbance.
This service is a backup for the licenses stored on the missing USB dongle. These licenses will be made available for you in your MyCAD account, so you can transfer them to another USB dongle. If you already have a USB dongle available in your stock, you can use it. If not, you must buy a new empty USB dongle from Gemini. However, the purchase price for an empty USB dongle is just 20 Euro, reflecting only the cost of the physical device.
